Hi!

Great template coolstream! I just recently started to use Tvixie on my WD TV HD, and the PEGGIE+TV template is a great addition.
I couldn't get the icons displaying different seasons and episodes to work though. Maybe it just doesn't work on the WD? Instead I got a line bottomcentre where i could scroll through seasons and episodes. This was not ideal because also the plottext was put there. I changed some x- and y-values in template.xml and got this(see screenshot). Now I can both see what episodes i have and also the plot :D
I hope this is okay with you?

Hi frederik__a and welcome to TViXiE forum!

To get season icons to work, you have to go through the process for each season in its own folder which you would then put into a generic folder for the program name itself. e.g. here

Nonetheless, if you have come up with a better format for the WD TV, I'd be happy to add it to the main post if you wanted to send it to me.

Try my suggestion for season folders first and then we will see what we can collaborate on ;)

Thank you! :)

Actually, I think that is how I have configured my folders.

This is the rootfolder of the series:

And this is a seasonfolder:

Or should I have tvix.jpg in the seasonfolders also?

Now when I go to the seriesroot on my WD i get the backgroundimage but I only get the line bottomcentre to scroll through seasons. Also, when I press 'Back' when I'm in "seasonview" to go back to seriesroot, the seasonbakground sticks, it doesn't change back to the seriesroot background.

Note that when using the altered template fanart1 and 2 are not used.

Another thing. I noticed that the 1080p-image did not appear when choosing 1080p in the Edit Movie Information dialog. When I looked in template.xml I noticed that a 'p' was missing, it said 1080.png instead of 1080p.png, both in PEGGIE+TV and PEGGIE+TVLIST templates.

I can only base my experiences on what I know and therefore say the way I would do it for TViX.

I would create a folder (ROOTFOLDER) called 'Weeds' and process it as if it were the only folder I had, i.e. run use PEGGIE+TV and say in the movie info something like 'Weeds season 1-6'

I would then create season folders for each season using PEGGIE+TV in the same way (to create new tvix.jpg for each season subfolder).

This would result in having the image I directed you to as the way the top folder would look, and the examply I used for 'Top Gear' being the way it would appear when you entered a season folder.

The big difference between TViX and WD TV is that in the lowest level subfolder on the TViX, all you see on the TV is tvix.jpg overlaid with 3 butttons (BACK, PREVIEW and PLAY) and when you select play, you will then bepresented with a plain black screen background over which a list appears (NOTE: on 6600, the list appears in a drop down scrolling menu over the top of tvix.jpg)

For me to fully understand how WD TV presents folders that have multiple file/subfolders content, I would need to see some sort of video presentation. Can you find one or even make a recording yourself?

Another thing. I noticed that the 1080p-image did not appear when choosing 1080p in the Edit Movie Information dialog. When I looked in template.xml I noticed that a 'p' was missing, it said 1080.png instead of 1080p.png, both in PEGGIE+TV and PEGGIE+TVLIST templates.

Well spotted! Thanks for the report, I will update the source files ;)

I figure that the edit has fixed the problem?

Thanks, Axel.

By using a dummy MovieInfo file, we now have a method of using the TViXiE editing features without a need for a primary scrape. It took a while to work out the logistics of being able to create a method that would be easy enough to understand and use and I hope that it proves useful.

Yes. Now the 1080p-image appears when checked in the editor.

I made an attempt to record browsing through the videofolders on my WD. Sorry about the poor imagequality :D

Hope this is what you wanted to see. The 'The Office' folder is NOT edited using Tvixie, the 'Weeds' folders are.
On the WD you use the 'OK'-button to open a folder or play a file. The exception seems to be with ISO-files, then you press the 'Play'-button to start the movie.
